Today was parent teacher conference for Kieran. His teacher had wonderful things to say about him. He said he's a go getter and that he's pretty much a great kid. The only thing he does do that we need to work on is shouting out in class. He said it's as if he has a thought and just blurts it out.
Mr. Visser said that his teacher last year had said a few things that weren't all positive. He admitted that he had some preconceived negative thoughts of what Kieran would be like. But, much to his pleasure Kieran is a great kid.
He said Kieran does really well with getting his work done in class. His citizenship is even up higher than it has ever been. He's good at spelling and math and that he really likes math. He occassionally has problems on the play ground but that he comes to his teacher when he has a problem he cannot solve. All in all, he's a great kid for his teacher.
The most shocking and exciting thing we learned was that he is a go getter. That is completely different than anything we've seen in the past. It makes me wonder what has changed? But, who am I to question a change for the better?
Ryan and I are very proud of him and the progress he has made. It's nice to see him doing positive things in spite of the harsh changes life has thrown his way...
